December Already

December 1st is already here, but without any snow or cold. By this time last year the snow had been laying for over a month. And now the second week-end of advent is coming up! Christmas is behind every corner... If you want to get the feeling a Christmas show is held at the beautiful Sofiakyrkan tomorrow night, friday at 19.30-20.30. It's a popular show held by local dance students along with a choir. If you're interested make sure to be there in time since it's almost always full! The programme is in both swedish and english. The show is free of charge, and a perfect way to get in the right Christmas mood! Don't forget that the tickets to the International Association's goodbye dinner now is available for purchase at the Student Service. Now wish for snow!

HV71

Finally we got tickets to a HV71 game! Maybe you noticed, hockey is a common interest in Jönköping... And HV71 is currently leading the league! Tomorrow the opponent will be Modo, from the northern city Örnsköldsvik. Modo is currently on place 11 in the league. Piece of cake?

Thank God It's Friday

Week-end is coming up! Don't forget Father's Day this sunday! Maybe a loving call would be appropriate... :)

International Day 2011

Great thanks to all of you participating in International Day for making it as good as possible! You made the International Day of 2011 really stand out and it may be hard to top next year... We got many positive reactions from the swedish students as well who enjoyed the culture mix that suddenly arose at HHJ's entry.

And what a night! A Culture Show at Akademien having awsome performances as the night's special treat! Liked the tie-magician... Hope you all enjoyed the night as much as we did.

Without you this day wouldn't have been possible. THANK YOU! Take care / S.U.S.H.I

All Saints' Eve

This weekend is dedicated to our beloved and lost ones. Tonight is all saints' eve followed by all saints' day and all souls' day. Take some time to light a candle or stroll by a graveyard to watch the beautiful spirit all the candles bring.
This sunday is also the day of Gustav Adolf, a former king of Sweden that died on november 6th 1632. Celebrate this day trough eating the Gustav Adolf-tarte! Some schools even celebrate this day by setting up little drama's or perfoming songs, and it is a national flagday. This day is also celebrated in Finland, but there called "Swedish Day".
See you soon!

Guesss whaat?!

At our last meeting we discussed our next activity, it will be to go and watch Hv71 play a hockey game. Hopefully it will be at the end of November, we looked at our schedule and the 23rd of november was our best option because International day is coming up soon. At the moment we are trying to get tickets to the game.. alright..

We hope you like our new website, we are working on improving the website and to put in more photos :)

next activity with SUSHI

On our last meeting we talked about what to do for the next activity. We tought that hockey was a good idea. We will not play hockey but we will go and to watch a game with HV71 which is one of the best teams in Sweden. Games with HV71 is usually very entertaining but we haven't had time to look into details yet. You will get more info about it soon..

Thanks

Thanks to our Canadian friends and students who showed us a little bit of their culture etc. Unfortunately this time I was feeling sick and could not make it to Books & Coffee. We appreciate that you take your time for this kind of events. Feel free to contact IA(international Association) if you want to show us and let us know more of your country.

Here is a link to their site http://www.jonkopingsstudentkar.se/en/international/
